We’re half way through the US Open, Sam Burns leads the way after posting one of the best ever rounds at Oakmont. JJ Spaun is still in contention after scoring +2 in the second round. Only 3 players out of the field ended under par at the half way stage, proving how tough the course is!
There were some popular picks who missed the cut, with 78% of players now out of the competition. Only 335 players remain in the hunt for the £13,625 prize pot!
For the first time ever, there are no players who are below par. We have new leaders on our LMS leaderboard, Derek and Kyle are both +1. As we saw with PGA Championship, the leaderboard can totally change in the space of a day, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens in Round 3.
With 1,179 people being cut at the half way, some popular players missed the cut such as Bryson DeChambeau – 8 (313), Shane Lowry – 40 (219), Sepp Straka – 50 (210), Ludvig Aberg – 22 (201), Joaquin Niemann – 35 (132), Tommy Fleetwood – 35 (124) and Justin Rose – 90 (95).
