Thank you to everyone who entered US Open Last Man Standing, it was a tough tournament for the golfers and an even harder one for our LMS entrants! It was our biggest pot (£2,850) for the US Open and we are continuing to see plenty of new faces joining our competitions.
The next LMS competition is the The Open Championship which is starting next Thursday, 14th July 2022. We are really looking forward to it with it being back at the home of golf, St Andrews. With this being the last major of the year, it’s also the last LMS we’re running until next year so lets make it a huge prize pot!
Last year we managed 245 entries for The Open Championship where Chris Heyes pocketed a tidy £2,450 with Ian Poulter, Jon Rahm and Collin Morikawa, who will be looking to put in another great performance after his victory in the previous year.
We are hoping for another big turnout and are aiming for at least 375 entries for this one so please help to spread the word about LMS by sending the website onto your mates.
How Last Man Standing Works
Pick 3 golfers from our The Open Championship entrants page with combined odds of 150/1+ (must be from this list – the odds have been taken from Bet365 on 07/07/2022):
E.g. Jose Maria Olazabal 70/1
Tiger Woods 50/1
Ruby Walsh 45/1
The lowest combined score wins i.e. if all 3 golfers finish on -10 your overall score would be -30. However if one of your golfers misses the cut, you’re out! (Almost 75% of the entries missed the cut in the Players, The Masters and PGA Championships whereas a brutal 87% missed the cut at the US Open so choose wisely!)
If the scores are tied at the end of Round 4, it will then be based on your lowest individual golfer.
E.g. if my golfers had the score -30 (-10, -10, -10) and Joe Bloggs had -30 (-15, -10, -5), Joe Bloggs would win as -15 would beat -10.
If both have the same lowest individual scorer, it would go to the 2nd lowest golfers etc.
Obviously if all 3 golfers have the same score, the pot will be split. The 2022 Players Championship was the first split pot in 4 years, with both winners pocketing £950 each.
If, for example, 3 people all finish tied in 1st place, the entire prize pot will be split equally between them i.e. 1st, 2nd and 3rd (100% of the prize pot) similarly to how ties in the actual competitions works.
