We are BACK!

After what has felt like an eternity, Golf LMS is back with our first tournament of 2023 being The Players Championship which starts next Thursday, 9th March 2023.

In 2022, we gave out winnings of £15,750 across the five tournaments (The Players Championship, The Masters, PGA Championship, US Open, The Open) which was by far our biggest year so a massive thank you to all who participated, we hope you enjoyed it. Can we hit the £20,000 milestone in 2023?

A big congratulations to Michael Simpson who won our free entry competition to all five tournaments this year. We will also be running another free entry compeitition for this tournament only so keep an eye out for that on Twitter and Instagram.

Last year we managed 207 (231 before withdrawals refunded) entries for The Players Championship where our first and only split pot occurred so Monty & Sam both pocketed £1,900 between them. We are hoping for another big turnout and are aiming for at least 300 entries for this one. Please help to spread the word about LMS by sending the website onto your mates and sharing our various social media posts.

How Last Man Standing Works

Following the trial of a payout for the top 3 entrants, we have decided to implement this going forward so the prize pot split for this tournament will be

1st – 75%
2nd – 20%
3rd – 5%

Pick 3 golfers from our The Players Championship – Golfers & Odds page with combined odds of 150/1+ (must be from this list – the odds have been taken from Paddy Power on 01/03/2023):

E.g. Seve Ballesteros 70/1
Colin Montgomery 50/1
A P McCoy 45/1

The lowest combined score wins i.e. if all 3 golfers finish on -10 your overall score would be -30.  However if one of your golfers misses the cut, you’re out! Almost 75% of the entries missed the cut in the 2022 Players Championship!

If the scores are tied at the end of Round 4, it will then be based on your lowest individual golfer.

E.g. if my golfers had the score -30 (-10, -10, -10) and Joe Bloggs had -30 (-15, -10, -5), Joe Bloggs would win as -15 would beat -10.

If both have the same lowest individual scorer, it would go to the 2nd lowest golfers etc.

Obviously if all 3 golfers have the same score, the pot will be split.  The 2022 Players Championship was the first split pot in 4 years, with both winners pocketing £950 each.

If, for example, 3 people all finish tied in 1st place, the entire prize pot will be split equally between them i.e. 1st, 2nd and 3rd (100% of the prize pot) similarly to how ties in the actual competitions works.

Rules

The deadline for entries to be submitted is 8.00pm on Wednesday 8th March 2023 due to the time it takes to process the entries.

The entry fee to be part of the competition is £10 which needs to be paid across by 10.00pm on Wednesday 8th March 2023, otherwise your entry will be excluded from the competition.

The bank details are as follows:

Mr C Ashton
11-08-45
02167627

Please leave the name you have used in your entry as the bank reference so we can pick up .

The top 3 entries take the prize pot, unless it is a split pot as per “How LMS Works“.

The prize pot will be calculated on the following basis – the entry fees less our admin fee for managing and processing the tournament which will be capped at 10%.

Late Withdrawal Replacement

If this box is ticked, a late withdrawal before tee off will be automatically swapped to another golfer with the same odds. In the unlikely event that there is no other golfer on the same odds, it will roll onto the next golfer on the list e.g. if your golfer is 12/1 it will roll onto 14/1. If this box isn’t ticked, and one of your golfers is withdrawn prior to teeing off, you will get your money back.

Regardless of whether the box is ticked or not, if one of your golfers withdraws after teeing off, you’re out with no refund.

For any entries outside of the UK, please email us on admin@lms.golf or message us on the contact form on the website and we can arrange payment via paypal.
