Xander Schauffele hit a major record-equalling 62 to set the pace after Round 1 at the PGA Championship. He hit 9 birdies in a bogey free opening round, Finau and Theegala are 3 shots back so will be hoping to close the gap in Round 2.

Tony holds an outright lead in the LMS leaderboard posting a very impressive -19 however only 5 shots separate the top 10 so it won’t take much to change the make up of the leaderboard.

At the other end of the table Tom Murphy is struggling on +8 after picking Cam Davis who shot +7 and looks a certainty to miss the cut.

There were 43 entries who were impacted by players not qualifiying for the tournament, 39 of these had the withdrawal replacement option ticked meaning they got assigned the following golfers:

There were 4 entries who didn’t tick this option so have been refunded their entry fee.

As a result the prize pot is now £9,350 which is split as follows:

1st – £7,000

2nd – £1,875

3rd – £475

10th – Owen Duggan 2 -15 (-9,-5,-1)

The entries with Ludvig Åberg (100), Tommy Fleetwood (79), Taylor Pendrith (59), Jake Knapp (56) and Akshay Bhatia (51) will all be sweating today as they are in danger of missing the cut.
