2024 The Open – Round 3

In Tournaments by Admin

Billy Horschel has a narrow lead going into the final round on -4 with 6 golfers behind on him on -3 and Scheffler lurking on -2. It was really tough conditions out there towards the end of the day with Lowry and Brown both suffering on the back 9. It is still very much to play for considering the conditions on the course.

As a result of the tough conditions, the LMS leaderboard is wide open as there is only 5 shots separating the top 25 who all have a great chance of taking home some of the £12,500 prize pot.

Top 10

The top 10 after Round 3 is as follows:

1st – Tony Kavanagh 3 -4 (-4)

2nd – Sean Garnder 2 (-3)

3rd – Liam Hall -3 (-3, -3, +3)

3rd – Chris Holmes 2 -3 (-3, -3, +3)

3rd – Bella Jacks 2 -3 (-3, -3, +3)

6th – Cathal McErlean 2 -3 (-3, -2)

7th – Hayden Parry -2 (-3, -2)

8th – Mark Gould -2 (-3, -1, +2)

8th – Mathew Berkley -2 (-3, -1, +2)

8th – Stephen Roberts -2 (-3, -1, +2)

8th – Paul De Asha 2 -2 (-3, -1, +2)

8th – Duncan McPhail 2 -2 (-3, -1, +2)

Our general rule of thumb is that if you’re within 10 shots of the lead, you’re still in contention and that is definitely the case here with the leaderboard being pretty tight and the scoring being so variable!

Good luck to those still in contention. There is still a lot to play for here with the way scoring has been so far.

Cheers,
