2024 The Open – Round 1

In Tournaments by Admin

300/1 outsider Daniel Brown currently holds the lead after Round 1 at The Open. Scoring has proved tricky for most of the field however he carded an impressive -6, unfortunately no one picked him for LMS though! Shane Lowry sits 1 shot behind Brown and plenty picked him so they’ll be hoping he can continue to score well in Round 2.

Only 13 golfers scored under par in Round 1, the forecast looks more tricky as the day goes on with wind gusts picking up. The golfers teeing off late morning/early afternoon will have to be on top form if they want to remain in contention.

Anthony Jermone is currently leading in our LMS leaderboard, all 3 of his golfers are under par, which considering the overall leaderboard is very impressive!

At the other end of the table Michael is struggling on +24 after picking Rory McIlroy (+7), Cameron Smith (+9) and Rickie Fowler (+8), it’s safe to say he’s going to be struggling to challenge for the prize pot!

There were no withdrawals so the prize pot remains as announced and stands at £12,500

1st – £9,375

2nd – £2,500

3rd – £625

Unfortunately, there was an early exit for 21 entries with Romain Langasque withdrawing mid round so they are all out of the competition.
