We love people winning BIG from their tenner however we’ve grown massively over the last year which has meant there has been more split pots this year than any other year we’ve run the competitions for.
We’ve also had a large number of queries to see if there is anything we can do to try and combat split pots for entrants with the same golfers. Therefore we are hosting a poll on Twitter regarding introducing a tie breaker question on the entry form (similarly to introducing the top 3 placings).
14 people had the same 3 golfers in PGA Championship therefore their maximum prize winnings would have only been £525 from the off whereas if the tie breaker question was available, the potential winnings would have been £5,500 like everyone else.
We also understand that people would be gutted if they didn’t win a share by losing out on a guess for the tie breaker hence the democratic approach by holding a vote on the matter.
The tie breaker question would only come into effect if entrants with the same 3 golfers (or exact same score with all 3 golfers) finished in the placings. It will be along the lines of what score will the winning golfer finish on e.g. -9 was the winning score for PGA Championship.
We would like to see your opinion on this and would be grateful if you would participate in our Twitter poll which will be open until 12pm, 11th June 2023 before we send out the details for US Open later on that day.
In order to introduce the tie breaker question, we would need to have at least 60% in favour and a minimum of 300 votes. Please note for anyone who doesn’t have Twitter, please respond via email and we will factor your votes into the Poll.
