Compared to the first round of the previous few LMS competitions the scoring has been much better meaning there’s plenty of people sitting pretty in the leaderboard.
The new withdrawal replacement (WR) option came in handy for 38 of the entrants due to 2 late withdrawals (Justin Rose and Erik Van Rooyen) and Rickie Fowler not qualifying for the competition.
Justin Rose had been selected by 37 entries and the 29 who opted for the WR then got Bryson DeChambeau as the replacement as next on the list with the same odds (50/1). The 8 entries without WR will be refunded.
Erik Van Rooyen had been selected by 2 entries who both opted for WR and got Jason Scrivener as the replacement as next on the list with the same odds (175/1).
Rickie Fowler had been selected by 8 entries where 7 opted for WR and received Sergio Garcia as the replacement. Fowler was the last golfer on the list with 66/1 therefore it went to Garcia who was first on the list with 66/1 as we must replace the golfer with the same odds where we can (this would have rolled on to the next odds up if no other golfers on 66/1). The entry without WR opted for will receive the refund.
As a result, the total entries have reduced to 470 and therefore reducing the prize pot to £4,250 which will be split as follows:
1st – £3,175
2nd – £850
3rd – £225

Shot of the Day
Shot of the day goes to Ian Poulter who holed a 160ft putt for an eagle which certainly silenced the boos he got at the start of his round!
