2023 The Open – Round 3

In Tournaments by Admin

With one round to go the race for the £11,600 prize pot, which is our biggest ever pot, is well and truly on! Brian Harman has lead the way from the start and with 18 holes to go he’s still 5 shots clear. After carding two bogeys in his first four holes, the chasing pack must have had their hopes up but he hit four birdies across the last 14 holes to finish his round -2.

It’s tight at the top of our LMS leaderboard with two shots separating the top 4 entries and there are another group that aren’t far behind so it’s all to play for!

Top 10

The top 10 after Round 3 is as follows:

1st – David Seddon -24

2nd – Ste Mea-Foley -23

3rd – Gary Whelan -22 (-12, -7, -3)

4th – David Platt -22 (-12, -5, -5)

5th – Paddy Murray -21 (-12, -6, -3)

5th – Andrew Dixon -21 (-12, -6, -3)

5th – Sam Duckworth -21 (-12, -6, -3)

5th – Adam Lynch -21 (-12, -6, -3)

5th – Olivia Seddon -21 (-12, -6, -3)

5th – Paul Buoey -21 (-12, -6, -3)

Our general rule of thumb is that if you’re within 10 shots of the lead, you’re still in contention and that is definitely the case here with the leaderboard being pretty tight!

Good luck to those still in contention. There is still a lot to play for here with the way scoring has been so far.
