Round 1 proved to be tricky for most of the field with only 26 golfers shooting under par. Rory McIlroy (45 selections) leads the way on -5 and you could have got him at 28/1 to be first round leader!

Only three ‘non-runners’ this time around, 2 with Danny Willett and 1 with Chez Reavie – which is a massive improvement on the 59 with Casey at The Masters (thank God!).

As a result, the total entries has reduced to 323 however the prize pot will remain at £3,000.

There are 7 other entries who are on -6, 6 entries on -5, 12 entries on -4 and 17 entries on -3 so it is very tight at the top.

The entries with Horsfield (1), Woods (10), Munoz (4), Harman (5), Kokrak (13), Champ (15), List (1), Westwood (4), Koepka (8), Horschel (20), Van Rooyen (1), Conners (22), Cantlay (15), Wolff (2), Hughes (1), Scott (5) and Hojgaard (1) will all be sweating today as they all scored +4 or worse and look like the missing the cut based on yesterday’s scoring but only time will tell!
