After a nervy finish and a long wait due to the weather, Rory McIlroy has won his second Players Championship. He was pushed all the way by JJ Spaun who fell short on the play off holes.
There was some late drama in our LMS leaderboard, Paul Conlon was 3 shots in the lead going into the 17th hole, until Alex Smalley hit a double bogey on the 17th and a bogey on 18th. This meant he went from being set to win £5,925, to ending up with nothing. Absolutely sickening for him!
Kevin Connell was the beneficiary of this as he won £5,925, not a bad return from a tenner!
Ronan Devine finished 2nd and took home £1,580 and Josh Rawlings took 3rd place pocketing £395.
