We mentioned yesterday that the leaderboard could quickly change with one good or bad round and that was certainly the case in Round 3!
JJ Spaun had another solid round carding -2, which saw him take the outright lead going into the final round. Bud Cauley had an incredible round scoring -6, at 150/1 for our competition, no one picked him but he’ll be teeing off with the final group.
The LMS leaderboard totally changed, Luke who was leading the way after Round 2 dropped from -26 to -19. Graham, who led after Round 1 and at one point was 3 shots clear at the top, went from -25 to -8 which must have been a sickening day for him! Min Woo Lee shot +6 over and Rickie Fowler carded +10, we can’t think of a larger drop off for a previous leader, although that will be an unwanted record!
Paul has a 3 shot lead going into the final round, he was 5th yesterday with the same score, so you can see that scoring was far more tricky for the entire field. He’ll be hoping for more of the same today with the £7,900 prize pot on the line.
Top 10
The top 10 after Round 3 is as follows:
1st – Paul conlon 2 -24 (-9, -8, -7)
2nd – Paul Lynott 5 -21 (-9, -7, -5)
3rd – Ronan Devine -20 (-8, -8, -4)
4th – Barry Williams 4 -20 (-8, -7, -5)
4th – Joe knall -20 (-8, -7, -5)
6th – Luke Pritchard 4 -19 (-8, -7, -4)
6th – Kevin Connell -19 (-8, -7, -4)
8th – Lee Kenwright -19 (-7, -7, -5)
8th – Ronnie cannon 3 -19 (-7, -7, -5)
10th – Dave Curry -18 (-9, -5, -4)
Our general rule of thumb is that if you’re within 10 shots of the lead, you’re still in contention and that is definitely the case here with the leaderboard being pretty tight and the scoring being so variable!
Please keep tabs on the leaderboard on our website to keep you up to date throughout the final round.
We will send the final scores after Round 4.
Shot of the day
Shot of the day goes to Akshay Bhatia with this impressive birdie from the bunker which was a highlight of a disappointing round for him.
Good luck to those still in contention. There is still a lot to play for here with the way scoring has been so far.
Cheers,
Cole & Alex
